• No planned vaccinations for 2 weeks prior to your collagen induction appointment
• Avoid treatment within 2 weeks of illness (cold/flu)

2 - 5 days prior to your appointment 

•  We recommend avoiding blood thinners (ibuprofen, fish oil tablets), alcohol and caffeine. However please consult your treating doctor before stopping any medications.
• If you're prone to bruising and swelling, you can begin taking arnica tablets (available at most health food stores)

• AVOID alcohol intake and smoking 

•  Eat a good meal and stay hydrated before your appointment. 
• AVOID caffeine
• Arrive with a clean face, if possible

To ensure the best results and minimize any potential side effects after your Sculptra treatment, please follow these aftercare instructions:

• Massage the Treated Area: Gently massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for the first 5 days after your treatment. This helps evenly distribute the product and promote optimal results.
• Avoid Touching Your Face Excessively: Refrain from pressing, massaging, or manipulating your face unnecessarily for the first 24 hours after treatment.
• Avoid Heat and Intense Exercise: Refrain from activities that may cause excessive heat or sweating, such as hot showers, saunas, or intense exercise, for 24-48 hours after treatment.
• Avoid Alcohol and Blood Thinners: To reduce the risk of bruising, avoid alcohol, aspirin, or other blood-thinning medications for 24 hours post-treatment, unless otherwise advised by your nurse.
• Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help your skin remain hydrated and support collagen production.
• Limit Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for 1-2 weeks after your treatment, as the skin may be more sensitive.
• No Facials or Skin Treatments: Avoid facials, chemical peels, laser treatments, or resurfacing facials for 2 weeks after your treatment to ensure the best outcome and prevent any irritation to the treated areas.
• Monitor for Side Effects: It's normal to experience some redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection sites. These should subside within a few days. If you experience any unusual or prolonged symptoms, contact us immediately.

A biostimulator injectable stimulates collagen production to restore facial volume and improve skin texture. Made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), it gradually enhances the skin’s appearance over several months. It is used to treat areas like the cheeks, temples, and jawline and provides long-lasting results, with effects lasting up to 2 years. 

When administered by a medical professional, the treatment is safe. However, as with any procedure, there are risks and side effects, which will be discussed in your consultation. 

 After treatment, common side effects include:

• Swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site
• Tenderness or itching around the treated area
• Lumps or bumps under the skin (usually resolves within a few days to weeks)
• Mild pain in the treated area

These side effects are typically temporary and should subside within a few days to a week. If you experience anything unusual or prolonged, contact your practitioner.

Everyone's pain tolerance varies, but it is generally a well-tolerated treatment, with any discomfort being short-lived. For some areas, a numbing cream will be applied, and the treatment contains a local anaesthetic to further numb the area, ensuring a more comfortable experience. 

We do not recommend these treatments for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Your safety is our priority, and in line with TGA guidelines, these treatments are not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

The frequency of treatments depends on your individual goals and skin condition. Typically, we recommend a series of 2 treatments spaced about 6 weeks apart for optimal results. After the initial series, maintenance treatments are usually recommended every 12-18 months to sustain the results. Your nurse will tailor the treatment plan to your specific needs during your consultation. 

There is minimal downtime after treatment. You may experience some swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection sites, but these effects typically resolve within a few days. Most clients can resume normal activities immediately, but it’s recommended to avoid strenuous exercise and heat treatments for 24-48 hours. You should also refrain from facials, laser treatments, and resurfacing treatments for a few weeks post-treatment. 

After your treatment, please contact our clinic immediately if you notice any of the following:

• Unusual coloration (dusky or white) of the treatment area, mottling, or unexpected bruising
• Severe or increasing pain, redness, warmth, or coolness to the touch
• Significant swelling or extensive bruising
• Itching, blisters, or pustules
• Loss of sensation or numbness
• Abnormal sensations in the affected area
• Difficulty swallowing, smiling, or experiencing fever/chills

After a thorough medical consultation, your clinical photos will be taken, your face will be cleansed, and the treatment area will be numbed if necessary. During the treatment, a Registered Nurse will carefully administer the products to the targeted area.
